WHO ARE WE?

Outside of the prickly exterior of the cactus lies a luscious resource in the desert… water. Just like how famed oboist Marcel Tabuteau described tone as a “diamond sitting on a pillow,” we use the idea of a cactus to represent the simultaneous vibrancy, complexity, and unctuous sounds of our reeds.  

Cactus Reeds is committed to providing high quality reeds and cane to people at any level of playing or reedmaking. We specialize in 100% handmade and hand-selected products that ensure the utmost quality. 

Our reedmaker meticulously tests reeds on a Howarth XL oboe and ensures a pitch floor at or above a C to facilitate effortless playing. Our reeds have a free-blowing quality that allows players to access a vast array of tone colors and styles.
